Carrier-rate trip estimate

Estimate international roaming charges from your carrier rates

Estimate travel roaming charges from your own data, call and text usage, carrier rates, and known fixed fees. No default roaming prices.

Estimate a trip scenario using the roaming rates and fees shown by your carrier for your destination and plan. The calculator supplies no default prices and does not contact your carrier.

Enter your usage and carrier charges, then calculate.

Use zero for a category you do not expect or a charge that does not apply. All price and fee inputs must use the same currency units. This simple estimate multiplies entered usage by entered unit rates, then adds the fixed amount. It does not model billing increments, included allowances, daily-pass triggers, different incoming and outgoing call rates, voicemail, rate tiers, network changes, or unlisted taxes and fees. Ask your carrier which rates and billing rules apply to your destination, plan and roaming network.

Check the carrier terms for your route

Before departure, confirm that your phone and plan can connect at the destination and check data, calls, texts, passes and billing increments with your carrier. Add a trip-wide estimate to the trip budget planner; if you need to convert its currency units, use the currency worksheet with a rate you provide.

The FCC guide is U.S.-focused. It advises travelers to check with their provider for destination-specific roaming rates and terms. This calculator is a user-entered scenario, not a price lookup or bill prediction.

How it works

Enter expected trip usage and the rates and fixed charges shown by your carrier for your destination. Keep all charge inputs in the same currency.

Good to know

Does this show my carrier's current roaming price?

No. Enter the current rates and fees from your own carrier for your destination, plan and roaming network. The tool does not look up carrier prices.

Will the result match my bill?

Not necessarily. Billing increments, plan allowances, daily passes, network selection, taxes and other terms can change the amount. Confirm those details with your carrier before travel.
