Enter times for the same airport, using the local dates and times shown on your itinerary. Add realistic allowances for your flights and plans. If bags must be collected and rechecked, include that time. This uses wall-clock arithmetic and does not resolve daylight-saving clock changes or convert time zones. All inputs stay in this browser.

Check before planning a landside visit

Leaving the airport can require passing border control and meeting passport, visa or electronic travel authorization requirements. Airside and landside transit can have different rules. The UK government, for example, distinguishes airside transit from landside transit and directs travelers to check whether their nationality and trip require a visa or ETA. Check the current official rules for your passport, airport, itinerary and travel date, and ask the airline whether you must collect bags or check in again.

This worksheet cannot determine whether you may enter a country, whether an airport allows a particular transfer, how long queues or traffic will take, or whether a separate ticket is protected. It cannot decide whether leaving is practical.

Good to know

Does this tell me whether I should leave the airport?

No. It calculates the time left after allowances you enter. It does not check your permission to enter, airport arrangements, queues, traffic, missed-flight probability or ticket protection.

Does it estimate the chance I will miss my next flight?

No. It has no delay or airport performance data and assigns no risk probability. The separate missed-flight cost field only displays the cost you enter.

How should I enter the time allowances?

Use your own flight, airport, baggage, border, transport and airline information. Include time for the return journey, re-checking bags if needed, security and the boarding cutoff, plus any extra buffer you want to keep.
