Flight disruption next steps
Find official flight delay complaint guidance
Choose official UK or EU flight complaint starting points, including airline and regulator guidance. This browser-only directory does not decide applicable law or claim eligibility.
Use this directory to open official complaint guidance. Choose the source you want to check; this tool does not determine which passenger-rights law applies to your flight or whether you qualify for compensation.
United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority
The CAA says to contact the airline or airport directly about a claim. If a claim is rejected, its guidance explains possible escalation routes, including an ADR body where available.
European Commission passenger-rights guidance
Your Europe says to complain to the airline first. If you are not satisfied with the response or receive no reply within two months, it describes contacting the relevant national authority in the country where the incident took place.
Not sure, or checking another region
This directory covers official UK and EU starting points only. Begin with the operating airline’s complaint process, then check the current passenger-rights regulator or enforcement body for the jurisdiction that applies to your route. The links below do not establish that UK or EU rules cover your flight.
Official sources
Checked 3 Nov 2026. Complaint procedures and legal scope can change; confirm current instructions with the responsible authority.
- UK Civil Aviation Authority: claiming for costs and compensation.
- UK Civil Aviation Authority: alternative dispute resolution.
- European Commission, Your Europe: air passenger rights and complaint steps.
- European Commission: national enforcement bodies.
Use the flight delay and cancellation evidence record to organize your own facts and documents before contacting an airline. It does not establish eligibility or determine an amount.
How it works
Choose the official UK or EU guidance you want to review, then follow the authority's current instructions for your route. Select not sure/other to see both entry points; the directory does not determine jurisdiction or eligibility.
Good to know
Does this finder decide which passenger-rights law applies?
No. It provides UK and EU official starting points only. The correct rules depend on the flight and current law; confirm scope with the responsible authority.
Should I contact the airline first?
The linked UK CAA and European Commission guidance both describe contacting or complaining to the airline first. Follow the current official process for your case.
Does this estimate compensation or submit a claim?
No. It does not estimate an amount, assess eligibility, save your selection or submit information. It only reveals links to official guidance.
