Before you book

Check the time between connecting flights

Calculate the scheduled time between flights at the same airport and compare it with a connection-time target you enter. Confirm official airport and airline requirements.

Calculate the scheduled interval between two flights at the same airport, then compare it with a target you choose. Enter both times as local airport times shown on the itinerary.

Enter both scheduled local times and a target to compare.

Use scheduled times for the same connecting airport and include the correct dates if the connection crosses midnight. The target is your own comparison value, not an official airport or airline minimum. This tool uses wall-clock arithmetic only; it does not convert time zones, add taxi or boarding time, or account for queues, immigration, security, baggage, terminal changes, delays, ticket protection or missed-flight risk.

Confirm the applicable minimum

Minimum connecting times depend on the airport and connection details. IATA describes its Station Standard MCT as a location-specific interval based on the scheduled passenger arrival and departure times, and publishes MCT data through its standards products. Check the current rule for your exact flights with the airline or booking agent. A connection that meets a published minimum is not a guarantee you will make it.

For separately booked flights, confirm whether you must collect and recheck bags, clear immigration or security, change terminal or airport, and meet an earlier check-in or boarding cutoff. Keep extra time for your needs and the consequences of a missed connection.

Sources and scope

This planner does not contain official minimum connection time data or airport-specific guidance.

How it works

Enter both scheduled local date and time values for the same airport, then enter the minimum interval you want to compare. Confirm the official requirement with the airline or booking agent.

Good to know

Does this tell me the official minimum connection time?

No. It subtracts the scheduled arrival time from the scheduled departure time and compares that interval with a target you supply. IATA describes official MCTs as location-specific and based on scheduled arrival and departure; check the current requirement for your airport, flight combination and ticket with the airline or booking agent.

What can make a connection take longer?

Terminal or airport changes, immigration, security, baggage collection and recheck, mobility needs, queues and boarding cutoffs may affect your usable time. This calculator does not model those steps, delays, missed-flight protection or separate-ticket risk.
